Jim Gallagher – About me
I’m a retired Aerospace worker with experience in Human Resources, I’ve spent 31+ years advocating and working to improve our community.
Education: BA from Cal State Fullerton in Sociology/Psychology , Masters Business Administration from University of Redlands, and Professional Human Relations Certificate (HRCI).
My wife, a retired Speech Language Pathologist, and I served on the Citizens General Plan Advisory Panel after the city was chartered, early 90’s. We were activists with the Green Valley Neighborhood Group that challenged a huge proposed residential development and worked with the city to re-imagine it and preserve a natural ridge. We were active on the Chino Hills Measure U ballot Initiative, and encouraged new parks, open space, and neighborhood improvements.
Since early 2000’s, we cofounded the Save the Tres Hermanos Ranch Group, to protect 2,445 acres of open space between Chino Hills, Industry, and Diamond Bar. We’ve supported Hope for the Hills group, Concerned Parents and Residents of the Chino Valley Unified School District, the Dog Park for Chino Hills Committee, and through community activism, helped bring to bear a city ordinance to regulate non-permitted boarding houses.
I’m a current Ambassador and recent 6 year member of the Board of Directors – Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce. Member of California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA) and the Chino Hills 55+ Club. I’m also a Board member for Chinese American Association of Chino Hills (CAACH).
